Snow extends Christmas break

Blowing snow and street lights blur in the early-morning hours today, as Chris Hall maneuvers a city of McCook snowblower across the parking lot at the Heritage Senior Center. McCook school children returned to class today, following a one-day break Tuesday as a powerful winter storm socked Southwest Nebraska and Northwest Kansas with freezing drizzle. crispy ice crystals, blowing snow and single-digit and sub-zero temperatures.
