How shall I vote?

Tuesday, July 6, 2004

Dear Editor,

Thoughts for responsible voting. The candidate: Is he American -- in support of the Constitution and intent on living the oath of office? Is he Communist -- politically correct? Can he get up in front of a crowd of Americans and speak to all of them?

Or, does he have to break them up into minorities and special interest groups and speak carefully so as not to "offend" anyone? Will he "give" me opportunity? Or, will he strive to protect the opportunity that is America? Will he inspire me to improve my lot in life? Or, will he tell me what my lot in life is?

God: Is his heart given to God? Or is his heart taken with the great "I"? Family: Does he understand that marriage is an institution, between a man and a woman, and created by God, the sanctity of human life? Or, does he seek the vote of the sodomites, defend the "right" to the murder, for the sake of convenience, known as abortion? Country: does he understand that so long as we are "one nation under God," we will remain a nation and that our strength lies in unity? Or, does he stand for a One World Government where God is said to be a crutch; supports diversity, which is the concept of divide and conquer?

Will I vote for a statesman who will serve if asked? Will I vote for a politician who is eager to be served?

"Support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic ..." That is the job description and is a part of the oath of office. The first 10 amendments, known as the Bill of rights, supply the guidelines.

For myself: Do I understant what happens in New York or California can also happen in Nebraska? That this is the UNITED States of America? That when I condone evil in another state, I encourage it here? Where do I stand on the questions asked of the candidate?

How shall I vote? For God, family and country!
