Wauneta-Palisade, Matt Klima first at GPAC golf tourney

CURTIS -- The Wauneta-Palisade golf team captured the Great Plains Athletic Conference team title Monday by 22 strokes over Culbertson.

The GPAC tournament was played at Arrowhead Meadows in Curtis,

The Broncos posted a team score of 368, followed by Culbertson with 390, Southwest 406, Maywood 417 and Lakeside Central 451.

Wauneta-Palisade's Matt Klima ran away with first-place medalist honors with an 81.

Teammmate Brandon Hansen placed second with an 89.

Culbertson's Chancy Pickett, Garrett Rippen and Bryce Cook placed third, fifth and seventh at 94, 96 and 96.

Maywood's Zac Robinson and Nathan Lenz placed fourth and eighth at 95 and 98.

Southwest's Jason Ellicott placed sixth with a 96.

Wauneta-Palisade's Marc Klima and Brad Licht finished ninth and 10th at 98 and 100.
