'Tis the season?

'Tis the season for giving! Right. Around McCook someone is harassing the folks year-round for a donation for something. (Anyone have time to begin in January and keep count of the many "requests" for our money for the next year?) United Way is only one of the big pushes for money now -- $85,000 -- only $10 from each of the 8,000 citizens of McCook, AND if you give $50 or more you get a chance to win $1,000 or $500 United Way Dollars. Wasn't it last year a cruise was given away? Can you figure out why you won't be getting any $5, 10 or 20 from me and doubtless numerous others? Because we wouldn't even be ELIGIBLE to even have a chance at the prize! Maybe you should take the prize money and donate it to the United Way instead of giving it to the people that already have all the money.
