'Santa' grateful

Thursday, October 16, 2003

My wife Bettye and I would like to take this opportunity to thank the many people involved in naming us the 2003 Heritage Days Parade Marshall.

The fact is, the McCook Toy Box would not be successful without the contribution of hundreds of hours by volunteers from around the area or without the many toy and cash donations made by area residents.

The Toy Box is once again busy getting ready for the upcoming Christmas giveaway scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 14 at the McCook Junior High School cafeteria.

Already the "elves" are working to repair used bicycles, tricycles and toys so that hundreds of children in Southwest Nebraska and Northwest Kansas might have a joyous Holiday Season.

If you would like to volunteer your time or give a good used or new toy contact (308) 695- Toys (8697 or (308) 345-4152.

And once again thank you for the honor of being named Parade Marshall 2003.

Sincerely,

Bill Stewart
