COLBY, Kan. -- Charles L. Rogers, 67, died Thursday (January 31, 2002) at Citizens Medical Center in Colby, Kan.

He was born Feb. 12, 1934, in St. Francis, to Jacob and Edna (Dale) Rogers.

On Aug. 9, 1955, he married Emma Hafer in Atwood. He worked for Martin Tractor Company in Colby for 32 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Vera Smith; and an infant son, Jacob Erwin.

Survivors include his wife, Emma Rogers of Colby, Kan.; four sons, David and wife, Kay Rogers of Colorado Springs, Colo., Daniel and wife, Lesley, Charles and wife, Rhonda, and Larry Rogers and Terry Rogers, all of Colby; three daughters, Ruby and husband, Virgil Brungardt, Mary and husband, Steven Burleigh, and Carla Rogers, all of Colby; three brothers, Paul Rogers of Springfield, Mo., Donald and wife, JoAnn Rogers of New Philadelphia, Ohio, and William and wife, Elaine Rogers of Denver, Colo.; 10 grandchildren, and one great-granddaughter.

Services will be Monday, 2 p.m., at Wesleyan Church in Colby with the Rev. Wade Hatfield officiating. Interment will be at Atwood Fairview Cemetery in Atwood.

Visitation will be Saturday and Sunday, 9 a.m. - 9 p.m., at Brantley Funeral Home in Atwood and beginning at 9 a.m., Monday at the church.

Memorials may be given in his name.

Brantley Funeral Home in Atwood is in charge of arrangements.
