Time to let the music play

I'm a week late but, as promised, here's a listing of concerts a little closer to home from now through the first of May. These listings include Denver and the surrounding area as well as Lincoln, Omaha, and Council Bluffs. I hope you can make it out to one or more of these shows because, as the Doobie Brothers sing, "Music is the Doctor of My Soul!

February: The Amazing Rhythm Aces will be appearing at the Riviera Blackhawk Casino in Black Hawk, Colo., on Friday, the 8th. The Bellamy Brothers will be at the White Buffalo in Loveland on the same date. Emmylou Harris will be at the Paramount Theatre in Denver on Monday, the 11th. Vonda Shepherd will be performing at the Paramount Theatre on Tuesday the 12th and Coco Montoya will be at the Gothic Theatre in Englewood on Thursday, the 14th, appearing with Tommy Castro. Galacting will be at the Fillmore, my favorite venue in Denver, on Friday the 15th and John Tesh will be at the Paramount in Denver on Saturday, the 16th. The Chris Duarte Group will be at the Gothic Theatre in Englewood on Saturday, the 23rd and Lennon will be at the same venue on Monday, the 25th along with Anyone and Speedealer. Bush and Default will close out February, appearing at the Fillmore on Thursday, the 28th.

March: Dave Mason will be at the Rialto Theatre in Loveland on Friday, March 1st. Bill Haley's Comets featuring Al Rappa will be at the Isle of Capril Casino in Black Hawk, Colo., along with Gary Lewis and the Playboys on Friday, the 8th. On the same date, Bobby Vinton will be at the Riviera Blackhawk Casino as well as Saturday, the 9th. On Wednesday, the 13th, the Pat Metheny Group will be at the Paramount Theatre in Denver, and on Saturday the 16th, Paula Poundstone, the comedienne, will be performing at the Paramount Theatre in Denver. On Friday, the 22nd, Leo Kottke will be at the Rialto Theatre in Loveland, and on Saturday, the 23rd, Rob Zombie, Sinisstar, and The Damned will be performing at the University of Colorado Balch Fieldhouse in Boulder. Ricky Skaggs will be at the Fillmore in Denver on Saturday the 23rd.

April: This month starts off huge with The Moody Blues appearing at the Fillmore Auditorium on Tuesday, the 2nd. Smokey Robinson will be at the Paramount Theatre on Saturday, the 6th, and Crosby, Stills, Nash, and Young will be performing at the Pepsi Center on Monday, the 8th. The Little River Band will close out a month in Denver of not much quantity but a lot of quality on Thursday, the 18th at the Grizzly Rose in Denver.

OMAHA, LINCOLN, AND COUNCIL BLUFFS

February: Arlo Guthrie will be at the Orpheum Theatre in Omaha on Friday, the 8th, Saturday, the 9th, and Sunday the 10th. Bobby Vee and The Vees will be rocking and rolling at Bluffs Run Casino on Sunday, the 17th, and Monday the 18th along with Johnny Tillotson. John Ford Coley will be performing at Harrah's in Council Bluff on Saturday, the 17th. The Lied Center in Lincoln will feature The "Live" Lawrence Welk Show on Wednesday, the 27th.

March: Porter Wagoner will be at Bluffs Run Casino in Council Bluffs on Sunday, the 17th. The Statler Brothers will be performing at the Lied Center in Lincoln on Friday, the 22nd. Hard Rocker Rob Zombie, along with Sinisstar and The Damned will be at Pershing Auditorium on Monday, the 25th.

April: Peter, Paul, and Mary will be at the Lied Center on Saturday, the 6th and The Little River Band will be at the Rococo Theatre in Lincoln on Thursday, the 11th. T. G. Sheppard will be performing at Bluffs Run Casino on Monday, the 22nd, and Tuesday, the 23rd. and the Bellamy Brothers will close out the month on Sunday, the 28th, appearing ab Bluffs Run Casino as well.
