Point overlooked

Monday, April 29, 2002

On the matter of the mock accident, I think the main point is being overlooked. There were people who cared enough to show these young people how they would feel in the event of an actual accident and they felt there was a significant problem with teenage drinking and partying in the area.

Yes it was rather shocking, but it wouldn't be better to be shocked into thinking this rather than having to experience it.

I'm not really happy with the faculty encouraging these people to react in this way. Whenever there's an accident it's the fire departments, EMTs and police department who have to respond to this.

I'm glad there are people who are willing to give these kids a strong dose of reality and I stand behind the people who planned it.
