Early summer ceremony unites couple

Brenda and MArk Deterding

LINCOLN -- Brenda Sue Fisher and Mark Damon Deterding were united in marriage on June 16, 2001, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Lincoln with Msgr. Pleskac officiating.

Parents of the couple are Raymond and Patsy Fisher of Indianola, and Mike and Sherry Deterding of Gothenburg. Honored guests at the ceremony were the grandparents of the bridegroom, Bill and Phyllis Witt and Marie Deterding.

The bride, attired in a strapless white matte satin gown, was escorted to the altar by her father. The gown featured beaded embroidery on the bodice and midway down the skirt and a cathedral length train. A waist length illusion veil was attached to a circlet of crystals and pearls. She carried a bouquet of cream and peach roses. Her personal attendants were Penny Shaffer and Kate Cover of Lincoln.

The matron of honor was Lori Torres of Lincoln, sister of the bride. Bridesmaids were Stacey Deterding Graver of Omaha, Shaun Sila of Holdrege, Deana Cwelich of Omaha, sisters of the bridegroom, and Tracey Fisher of Indianola, sister-in-law of the bride. They wore sky blue princess line gowns of lamour satin featuring a short bolero jacket. They each carried a bouquet of spring flowers.

The flower girl, dressed in a white satin gown, was Jaiden Sila of Holdrege, niece of the bridegroom.

The bridegroom was attired in a black tuxedo with white vest and tie.

The best man was Ryan Deterding of Gothenburg, brother of the bridegroom. Bridegroomsmen were Jason Fisher of Holdrege and Eric Fisher of Indianola, brothers of the bride, Matt Mahoney of New York City, and Jerry Jacobi of Omaha. Nicholas Fisher of North Platte, nephew of the bride, was the junior bridegroomsman. They wore black tuxedos with black vests and ties. Ushering the guests were Todd Bartels of Cambell, Mark Johnson of Wisner, Kurt Nyberg of Phoenix, Ariz., and Colin Palm of Omaha.

The reader was Rex Walz of Stapleton, cousin of the bridegroom. The Communion gifts were presented by Dave and Sandy LaBrie of Minden, uncle and aunt of the bridegroom.

The guest book attendant was Heather Othmer of Lincoln. Anthony Marquardt of Cozad and Jacob Torres of Lincoln, nephews of the bride, were the program and gift attendants. The organist was J. Gordon Christensen of Imperial. The pianist and soloist was Ellen Soukup of Lincoln.

A reception and dance followed the ceremony at the Yankee Hill Country Club. The host couples were Denny and Susan Puelz, uncle and aunt of the bride, and Ralph and Jean O'Connor of Grafton. The honorary host couple was Don and Jean Sughroue, uncle and aunt of the bride.

The bride is employed by Bryan Memorial Hospital-East in Lincoln and is attending UNMC to earn her master's degree The bridegroom is the assistant manager at the Pioneer Production Plant in York.

After a honeymoon to Cancun, Mexico, the couple is making their home near Beaver Crossing
