Autumn nuptials unite couple

Amelia and Troy Strauch

Amelia Katherine Nelms and Troy Allen Strauch both of McCook were united in marriage Nov. 10, 2001 in a double-ring ceremony at Memorial United Methodist Church in McCook with Rev. Dr. Jeffery Thurman officiating.

Parents of the couple are Roger and Rose Nelms of McCook and Harry and Janice Strauch of Scottsbluff.

Grandparents of the couple are Marvin and Ruth Nelms of McCook, Harvey and Rachel Cox of Eaton, Colo., June Ring and the late Henry Ring and the late Henry and Leila Strauch.

The bride wore a gown fashioned from an Allycin and Rose pattern with the brides directional help. The bodice had a lace overlay with hand-sewn pearls on it. Dorothy Cash, grandmother of the couple, helped create the dress. The bridegroom wore a black tuxedo.

Trisha Dueland of O'Fallon, Ill., cousin of the bride, served as the maid of honor. Bridesmaids included Jennifer Rosebrook of Lincoln, Kan. and Andrea Barnes of Omaha. They each wore a crepe-backed satin dress of light celon green and crepe in burgundy.

The best man was Lorin Strauch of Scottsbluff, brother of the bridegroom. Travis Strauch, brother of the bridegroom and Tim Nelms, brother of the bride, served as bridegroomsmen.

The men each wore a black tuxedo.

The flower girl was Abigail Mohr of McCook. The ring bearer was Zachary Neideffer of Scottsbluff. The candlelighters were Alyssa Mohr of McCook and Heather Neideffer of Scottsbluff. Adam Hock and Aaron Peterson, both of McCook, served as ushers.

Marie Coffie of McCook was the organist. Candace Mohr and Meritt and Susan Nelms were vocalists.

The reception was in the church. Jessica Miller of McCook was the guestbook attendant and the reception assistants were Oren and Eleanor Carter. Elizabeth Hoyt was the gift carrier and Oren and Elenor Carter and Pat Hoff of Scottsbluff helped organize the gift table. The mints were made by the bridegrooms aunt, Betty Kanssler of Scottsbluff. The bride is a graduate of McCook High School and Nebraska College of Technical Agriculture and is currently working at Four Winds Animal Clinic in McCook. The bridegroom is a graduate of Scottsbluff High School and is currently working at W Design Associates of McCook.

The couple is making their home in McCook.
