Eugenia 'Gene' Lorraine Wyatt

BEAVER CITY -- Eugenia "Gene" Lorraine Wyatt, 91, of Holdrege, formerly of Beaver City, died Tuesday (July 8, 2003) at Bertrand Nursing Home in Bertrand.

She was born May 5, 1912, at Hollinger to Edward and Cordelia (Dowell) Harman. She grew up in the Hollinger area. She graduated from Beaver City High School with the class of 1932. Following graduation, she taught county school for a few years.

On March 8, 1936, she married Lewis Wyatt at Ragan. They farmed most of their life northwest of Norton, Kan., and in southern Furnas County. They farmed in Missouri from 1951 until 1961 at which time they moved to Denver. They retired in 1977, and returned to Beaver City. She moved to Holdrege in 2001.

She was a member of Grace Brethren Church at Beaver City.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lewis on Feb. 11, 1990; and one brother, Max Harman.

Survivors include three sons, Roger Wyatt and wife, Jo of Basehor, Kan., Patrick Wyatt and wife, Donna of Elko, Nev., and Jerry Wyatt and wife, Cheri of Holdrege; one daughter, Ardis and husband, Merton King of Denver, Colo.; one sister, Virginia Pywell of Nampa, Idaho; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Friday, 10:30 a.m., at Grace Brethren Church in Beaver City with the Rev. Dwain Fowler officiating. Burial will follow at Union Cemetery of rural Beaver City.

Viewing and visitation will be Thursday from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Wenburg Funeral Home in Beaver City and prior to services at the church on Friday.
