The honor guard and audience stand attention for the playing of "Taps" on Monday at Memorial Park Cemetery in McCook. "America can never fully repay her veterans, but if there is a crown in heaven, they are the stars," said Dan Stramel, commander of the American Legion. "This great nation was not established by cowards, nor will it be preserved by them. America will remain the land of the free only as long as it is the home of the brave," he said.
