Jessica Hall swims away with four gold medals at Grant meet

GRANT -- McCook YMCA swimmer Jessica Hall captured four first-place gold medals last Saturday at the Grant Swim Meet.

Hall, competing in the 15-18 girls division, finished first in the backstroke with a time of 42.8 seconds, the buttefly (44.28), short freestyle (38.26) and the individual medley (1 minute, 40.69).

Other McCook results:

* Derek Carriker won gold medals in two of his four events in the 15-18 boys division.

He won the breaststroke (42.32) and long freestyle (1:17.99) and placed second in the butterfly (46.12) and short freestyle (33.47).

* Miranda Holliday won the 8 and under girls short freestyle (23.83).

* Taylor Miller won the 9-10 girls backstroke (29.55), placed second in the short freestyle (23.22) and was third in the breaststroke (27.95).

* Cassie Olson won the 13-14 girls IM (1:36.3) and was second in the breaststroke (48.78) and short free (36.64).

* Amy Lester won the 13-14 girls backstroke (41.61) and was third in the breaststroke (52.48) and short free (36.88).

* Katie Latta earned second-place finishes in the 11-12 girls breaststroke (55.5), IM (2:04.21) and backstroke (53.7). She was fourth in the short free (45.67).

* Ashley Noltensmeier finished third in the 9-10 girls backstroke (32.37) and fifth in the freestyle (25.89).

* Kayla Fahrenbruch placed fifth in the 11-12 girls butterfly (1:05.02) and sixth in the breaststroke (1:08.16) and backstroke (1:04.22)

* Melissa Dixson was fourth in the 13-14 girls breaststroke (1:00.4) and sixth in the breaststroke (1:02.4).

* Katie Kilpatrick was fifth in the 13-14 girls breaststroke (1:00.43) and backstroke (55.02).
