Health department urges tests for lead, radon

McCOOK, Neb. — The director of the Southwest Nebraska Public Health Department encourages more homeowners to test for lead and radon levels in their homes. SWNPHD director Myra Stoney, of McCook, told Red Willow County commissioners Monday morning that of the 233 homes tested for lead within the department's 9-county area between July 2017 and June 2018, 15-20 homes had lead levels alarming by federal standards.
