Bison wrestlers deliver best Norton effort

NORTON, Kan. -- McCook Bison wrestlers certainly didn't roll over for several elite Kansas high school teams at Saturday's Norton Invitational. In fact, coach Nick Umscheid believed this the best Bison performance ever in this 17-team meet. McCook finished sixth overall with senior Eric Langan (182 pounds), junior Kaleb Taylor (22) and teammate Carson Richards (106) all winning consolation championships. Trevor Felber added a fourth-place finish at 113. "This is the highest we ahve finished as a team since have have started going there," Umscheid commented. "It was a very tough tournament with some of the top teams from Kansas represented like Manhattan, Norton, Smith Center and Garden City."
