McCook's insurance rating improves

McCOOK, Nebraska -- The McCook Fire Department received a rating classification improvement during a recent analysis which could result in premium reductions to some commercial and residential insurance policies. The analysis, performed by Insurance Services Office, Inc., of Chicago, ranks communities on their fire-fighting capabilities and awards a Public Protection Classification somewhere between one and 10, with one being the best. ...

A group of McCook, Nebraska, teens model their muscles and their "Morphsuits" Wednesday afternoon. "It's Spandex. It's cool -- wanna feel?" one said, lifting an arm encased in shiny, stretchy red material for inspection. "Morphsuits" started in Japan, where they're called "zenshin taitsu" or "Zentai" (全身タイツ) or "full-body tights." OMAHA, Nebraska -- A tiny premature baby girl, born Friday, Nov. 5, hangs on to life in an incubator in an Omaha, Nebraska hospital, and her parents need help to pay travel, living and medical expenses until their baby daughter can come home. Abigail Louann Porter weighed three pounds and measured 14 inches long when she was born at 29 weeks, almost two months early. Medicare isn't supposed to take cost into consideration, but Wednesday's recommendation that a new vaccine for men with advanced prostate cancer be approved has raised that question.
