I have lived in McCook for four years now, and I am completely bewildered by the political on goings of this community. I would assume that any prudent person/persons within any business and/or organization to interview as many applicants as would deem necessary to consider the very best applicant for a position...

The title of today's column is a line spoken by Jack Nicholson in the movie, "A Few Good Men." For most people in today's world, I think the line is wrong. I don't think it's nearly so much that people can't handle the truth but rather people being afraid to tell the truth...

U.S. Senate race is a disappointment

Despite having millions of dollars at their disposal, the U.S. Senate candidates from Nebraska disappointed citizens of this great state when they began the general election campaign with a series of attacks on each other. It was like gossip mongering on a grand scale. One tattled on the other for trying to avoid property taxes. Then the other shot back, charging his opponent for paying less property taxes than he should...
