Fence the ponds
(Letter to the Editor ~ 02/02/05)
**Dear Editor, I am very surprised that after Scott (Hoffman)'s death that something has not been done to the freezing pound in Barnett Park so that there would not be another accident again. Well it seems to me that we have such laws that say that if a person puts in a pond in their backyard, that you have to make sure it has a fence around it and that the fence has to be a certain height to protect other people and small children from coming in your yard and keeping small children from falling in and drowning.. ...

Anderson wrote in confirming what has happened in Lincoln -- people who don't go to bars deciding what people who do go to bars can and can not do...

Even backwater politicians know better than to tell those who prescribe to the theory of creationism "no." If they were to tell a church no, the church would get out the vote and the politician would not be re-elected. The college may draw many students and others to the community where they spend money, but that doesn't outweigh the clout of the church...

(Local News ~ 02/02/05)
I often justify my love of reading and what some would say is an excessive amount of time spent doing just that with my need for words. After all, I am a writer and I dare not run out of words. So I refill my tank frequently with the words penned by others...
