**Dear Editor, Did the wind beat you some? Your plants got it worse. I use old bricks to place around young plants, maybe two high on the south side. Bricks give shade, yet warm the ground and stop high wind from drying out plants. I also, off to the corner of my lot, let weeds and grass get tall, then hand cut the free straw to place under plants to stop moisture loss and disease problems...
