He attended Elwood High School and graduated in 1958. On Nov. 16, 1962, he married Della Mae Riepe in Beaver City. COZAD -- The McCook High School girls overcame a slow start to hand the Cozad Haymakers a 39-36 loss Saturday night at Cozad. The Bison girls improved to 10-4. McCook, which defeated Hastings Friday night at home, trailed 18-11 at halftime. The Bison turned up the press in the second half and hit 5-of-6 free throws (11-of-17 overall) in the fourth quarter to clinch what coach Bill Beckenhauer described as a "benchmark victory" because of the team's 10th victory...

C. Dale Yauk, 82, died Sunday (Jan. 18, 2004) at Hillcrest Nursing Home in McCook. He was born Sept. 7, 1921, to William and Cora (Mabry) Yauk in Kansas. He grew up in Imperial where he graduated from Imperial High School in 1939. On Aug. 8, 1942, he married Ola Maggard in Oberlin. The couple resided in Oberlin before moving to McCook where he worked as a bookkeeper and parts man for Budig Motors before working for Hormel Chevrolet. He retired from Howard Kool motors in 1983...

WAVERLY -- The McCook High School Bison wrestling team competed with some very strong eastern teams Saturday in Waverly. The meet was won by Waverly on the tiebreaker rule. Three teams finished with 4-1 records with Waverly scoring the most points. Platteview lost to Blair in the first round.
