Senior Center wins major grant

Gov. Mike Johanns has awarded McCook's Heritage Senior Center $350,000 for a new building. The money is part of a Community Development Block Grant which will fund 31 communities to complete 33 housing rehabilitation, planning and public works projects. The $5,265,000 is divided between eight housing rehabilitation projects receiving $1,918,000, 10 planning projects receiving $198,000, and 15 public works projects receiving $3,149,000...

I was really upset over them trying to take "under God" from the Pledge of Allegiance. I'm an elderly person and I've always been taught that God was part of our way of life in the United States. I believe that if anybody doesn't believe that God is a part of our constitutions and part of our pledge, they should go to another country that doesn't believe that...
