Water issue goes against city yet again

The city of McCook was dealt a blow Thursday with a ruling that it had no legal reason to break a contract for the purchase of the old Army Air Base for a wellfield site. Red Willow County District Judge John Battershell ruled that the sellers had completed their part of the contract and deserved to sell the land for $2.7 million -- plus interest since March 1, 2000...

Rose (Butherus) Cook CULBERTSON -- Rose Cook, 99, died Thursday (October 18, 2001) at Hillcrest Nursing Home. She was born July 24, 1902, to Henry and Katherine (Gies) Butherus at Trenton. She attended school at Benkleman and Bartley, graduating from Bartley High School in 1921. She received her Teachers Training Certificate and taught rural school in Bartley, District 69 and District 2 north of Culbertson. She lived most of her life in this area...
