  • I had the lego reaction once, and turned around to see my mom, I was under 10 at the time.

  • I felt some serious empathy pain shooting up m'leg when you got to the

    "step on a lego..." part.

    That was way funny!

    Oh, my golly, lol!

  • A sippy cup...really. I'm sorry to hear others have stepped on legos. The only toys worse than that on a bare foot are army guys.

  • Lori,

I thoroughly enjoyed both your Sitcom Mom stories. You have a good, tight writing style, a good dose of self-deprecating humor(needed by ALL moms to survive), and your BA in English is well referenced - RE: your "Like Water for Apple Juice" - isn't there a book "Like Chocolate for Water"??? It was especially interesting to me when our son was very young, he drank nothing but apple juice - always called out for "Appy". (My husband would hold a glass of it aloft and muse that it must go through the body virtually unchanged.)

Your listing of "you might be a Sitcom

Mom if.." plays on Jeff Foxworthy's "You might be a Redneck if..."

You're sounding a little like the old Erma Bombeck columns, if that's what you might be intending, only a little more literary. You're taking advantage of an endless supply of material cleverly, even in a small town, and even if "you know everyone early in the morning!"

    Keep up the choice writing!

  • Well, hi, Aunt Nancy! Thanks for the comments. What a nice surprise! Hopefully, I can make all my poetic/literary/editorial relatives proud.
