ORD, Nebraska -- Annette Trimble, 96, of Ord, passed away on Saturday, Sept. 3, 2011, at the Valley View Living Center in Ord.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, Sept.15, 2011, at Grandview Assisted and Independent Living Center. Inurnment will be held at a later time at Lincoln Memorial Park Cemetery at Lincoln, Nebraska. Memorial contributions are suggested to local humane societies or animal shelters. Ord Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

Annette Trimble was born Nov. 3, 1914 in Canton, Ohio, to Leona and Howard Preble. She died on Sept. 3, 2011, in Ord, Nebraska, where she had been a Grandview resident for the past 10 years. She had previously lived in Burwell, Nebraska; Grand Island, Nebraska; Lincoln, Nebraska; McCook, Nebraska; Kansas City, Missouri; Mason City, Iowa; and Sioux Falls, South Dakota. She had attended high school and college in Lincoln where she met and married Cleve Trimble, Jr. in 1937.

Annette had served as personal secretary to the editor and publisher of the McCook Daily Gazette; the Republican Valley Conservation Association; and the Nebraska Tax Commissioner. She was a member of Eastern Star, P.E.O. Sisterhood and St. Stephens Episcopal Parish in Grand Island. She was active in fund-raising and philanthropy for local hospitals, animal shelters, and Native American schools.

"For those who knew her, Annette would be best remembered for her mischievous nature, her creativity, her continuing generosity, and her deep love for friends and family."

She is survived by a son, Cleve Trimble III, of Valentine, Nebraska; and a daughter, Gretchen Olberding, of Goodyear, Arizona; three grandchildren of Samantha Trimble Leapley of Golden, Celorado; Louis Olberding of Lincoln, Nebraska; and Matthew Olberding of Lincoln, Nebraska; and three great-grandchildren Hailee and Jackson Olberding of Lincoln, and Griffin Leapley of Golden, Colorado.

She was preceded in her passing by many special and loving souls, including Laurence Wood and Gordon Robbins.
