William Bill Jensen, 86, died Wednesday (Jan 3, 2007) at Hillcrest Nursing Home in McCook.

He was born Oct. 13, 1920, at Gem, Kan., to Jens and Mette (Axelsen) Jensen.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II from January 1942 to December 1945. He was a truck driver for many years and settled in McCook after 1976.

He was a member of the Masonic Lodge of Atwood.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Harry, Chris and Fred Jensen; a brother-in-law, Lowell Ruggles; and one nephew Rolland Jensen.

He is survived by a sister, Sina Ruggles of McCook; sisters-in-law, Mary Jensen of Mead, Colo., and Arlene Jensen of Lakeland, Fla.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at Carpenter Breland Funeral Home in McCook with Jerry Beckenhauer officiating. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery in McCook.
