Gordon Minney

ATWOOD -- Gordon Minney, 93, of Atwood, died Wednesday (Dec. 8, 2004) at Prairie Senior Living Center in Colby, Kan.

He was born July 21, 1911, to Wilbert B. and Hallie Minney in Rawlins County.

He graduated from Atwood High School and then entered a military academy.

On April 29, 1950, he married Maxine Myers in Taos, N.M. He was a farmer and rancher, who spent his life in Rawlins County.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Maxine; one son, Jeff; and one daughter, Dede.

Survivors include his children, Mike of Fort Collins, Colo., Brad of Fort Collins and Patrice and husband, David of Pretty Prairie, Kan.

Services are Monday, 10 a.m., at Brantley Funeral Home in Atwood with the Rev. Terry McGuire officiating.

Visitation is Saturday and Sunday, 9 a.m.-9 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery in Atwood.

Memorials may be given in his name to the Rawlins County Historical Society.
