Maurice C. Lee

Maurice C. Lee, 98, died Thursday (Oct. 4, 2001) at Hillcrest Nursing Home in McCook.

He was born Sept. 30, 1903, at Louisville, Kan., to Charles W. and Laura V. (McDowell) Lee. He grew up at Long Pine, graduated from Long Pine High School in 1925. He graduated from the University of Nebraska in 1927.

On Sept. 30, 1932, he married Ardath Ross. They spent their married lives in McCook. He was a salesman for D&S Market and Hardware, retiring in 1965. He was a member of the Long Pine Masonic Lodge 136 at Long Pine.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Ardath on Feb. 16, 1989; two brothers, Leslie and Mack Lee; and three sisters, Ada Lee, Veda Dodds, and Grace Maryott.

Survivors include one son, James Lee and wife, Erma of McCook; and two grandchildren.

Graveside services will be Monday, 2 p.m., at the Grandview Cemetery at Long Pine with the Long Pine Masonic Lodge 136 officiating. Interment will be at the Long Pine Cemetery.

Memorials may be given in his name, and friends may call at Herrmann Funeral Home of McCook Saturday, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
