Robert K. Doyle

Robert K. Doyle, 84, died Wednesday (Oct. 24, 2001) at McCook Community Hospital.

He was born Nov. 25, 1916, in Red Willow County to Charlie E. and Lillie B. (Groves) Doyle. He graduated from Red Willow High School in 1934.

On Oct. 17, 1937, he married Emma Mae Mackey at McCook. She preceded him in death on June 21, 1983.

He married Mildred M. (Maizel) Holmes on March 1, 1984. He farmed northeast of McCook all of his life until his retirement. He was living at Willowridge Retirement Community at the time of his death. He was a member of Memorial United Methodist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Emma; two infant sons; one infant daughter; two brothers, William and Raymond Doyle; two sisters, Leona Coburn and Velma Ruggles; one step-grandchild; and one step-great-grandchild.

Survivors include his wife, Mildred of McCook; one son, Edward Doyle and wife, Ann of McCook; one daughter, Sara Esch and husband, Vernon of Indianola; two step-sons, Leonard Dutton of Idalia, Colo., and James Dutton of Denver, Colo.; one step-daughter, Dorothy Leiss of Sun City, Ariz.; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; nine step-grandchildren; 15 step-great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Services will be Saturday, 10:30 a.m., at Memorial United Methodist Church with the Rev. Dr. Jeffrey Thurman officiating. Interment will be at Riverview Cemetery.

Visitation is today until 8:00 p.m.
