Jeffrey Michael Parker

BENKELMAN -- Jeffrey Michael Parker, 37, died Sunday (Dec. 16, 2001).

He was born Oct. 12, 1964, at Benkelman to Roger and Florence (Manning) Parker. He attended school in Benkelman and graduated from Benkelman High School in 1983. He was baptized into the Christian faith Oct. 5, 1976, at the Church of Christ in Imperial.

On June 16, 1984, he married Sherri Kihlthau. They made their home in the original Parker farmhouse where he farmed. He was co-owner and operator of Parker's Inc. and Parker Farms.

He was an active teacher and leader in the church and was a member of the Dundy County Rural Fire Board.

He and his daughter, Kristi, died on the same day.

Survivors include his wife, Sherri Parker of Benkelman; son, Jacob of Benkelman; parents, Roger and Florence Parker of Max; one brother, Spencer and wife, Peggy Parker of Max; one sister, Teresa and husband, Mike Heavin of Aurora, Ill.; and his grandmother, Elizabeth Phillips of Max.

Services are today, 10 a.m., at the Dundy County High School Gymnasium with Glen Osburn and Irvin Barnes officiating. Interment will follow at the Benkelman Cemetery.

Memorials may be given in his name.
