BATTLE GROUND, Wash. -- Bernice A. Hummels, 93 died Monday (Jan. 14, 2002) at Parkway North Care Center in Battle Ground, Wash.

She was born Dec. 17, 1908, in Hildreth and was married to Francis "Tiny" Hummels. She was a beauty operator in McCook for two years.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband.

Survivors include one daughter, Imogene Shepherd of Woodland, Wash.; and one son, LaVerne and wife, Agnes Hummels of El Paso, Texas. Local survivors include three nieces, Lou Balius, Virginia Brant and Viola Pritchett, all of McCook.

Memorial contributions may be made in her name to the American Cancer Society.
