Fern Pieratt

OBERLIN -- Fern Pieratt, 97, died Friday (May 17, 2002) at Decatur County Good Samaritan Center in Oberlin.

She was born Oct. 7, 1904, to Randolph J. and Lula Ella (Bradly) Forrest in El Reno, Okla. She was raised in El Reno as well as Carrizozo, N.M.

On Nov. 21, 1942, she married Frank Pieratt in El Reno. The couple resided in Roswell, N.M. before moving to Brewster, Kan. in 1991. They moved to Oberlin in 1994. She worked as a secretary.

She was a member of First Christian Church Disciples of Christ and Order of Eastern Star.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Frank; and one brother, Randolf Forrest.

Survivors include one sister, Mariam F. Allison of Oberlin; and two nieces, Pat and husband, John Wright of Oberlin and Carolyn Robinson of Fountain Hills, Ariz.

Graveside services will be Wednesday, 10 a.m., at the South Park Cemetery in Roswell. There will be no visitation.

Memorials may be given in her name.
