WICHITA, Kansas -- Ron L. Kump, 60, formerly of Oberlin, Kansas, died Dec. 15, 2010, at Harry Hynes Hospice in Wichita.

He was born Dec. 10, 1950, in McCook, Nebraska, to Jack R. and Cecilia (Zodrow) Kump. He was raised in Oberlin. After school he lived in Kansas City, Missouri.

He was a member of the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.

On April 28, 1973, he married Judy Todd. The couple lived Oberlin and Wichita.

During his lifetime, he worked at South Town Ford in Kansas City, Kump Motor Co. in Oberlin, and Chance Rides in Wichita.

He was preceded in death by his father; stepfather, George Brown; and parents-in-law, Jim and Verna Robinson.

He is survived by his wife, Judy Kump of Wichita; mother, Cecilia Kump-Brown of Oberlin; daughters, Melisa and husband, Shawn Hazell of Hutchinson, Kansas and Jenifer and husband, Mitch Emery II of Wichita; two step-brothers, Eric and wife, Peggy Brown and Kurt Brown; step-sister, Linda and husband, Bill Chapman; and four grandchildren.

Funeral services are Saturday, 11 a.m., at Pauls Funeral Home in Oberlin with Sister Marilyn Wall officiating. Inurnment is in the Oberlin Cemetery.

There is no visitation.
