Kathryn D. Post

OBERLIN -- Kathryn D. Post, 84, died Friday (Dec. 11, 2009), at the Decatur County Good Samaritan Center, in Oberlin.

She was born Dec. 16, 1925, on a farm west of Kanona, Kan., to Luther L . Capps and Pearl Trotter. She was raised in Kanona and attended District No. 47, near Kanona, as well as LPN school in Wichita, Kan., in 1969.

On Sept. 21, 1945, she married Lewis H. Post in Oberlin. She spent most of her married life in Norton, before moving back to Oberlin in 1970.

She was a member of the New Hope Baptist Church

She was preceeded in death by her parents, Luther L. Capps and Pearl Trotter; her husband, Lewis; daughter, Mary Zimmerman and husband, Steve; her infant brother, Forrest Capps; her brother, Vidal Capps; and sister, Pat Vernon.

Survivors include her grandson, Steve Zimmerman of Cheyenne, Wyo.; and several nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be at a later date.

Pauls Funeral Home of Oberlin is in charge of arrangements.
