KEARNEY -- Donna K. Carter, 67, of Kearney, died Tuesday, (Feb. 26, 2007) at Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney.

She was born in Leon, Iowa on June 20, 1940, to Harlan and Rosa (Cooper) Kneedler. She was raised by her foster parents Emery and Lucille Quinn. She grew up in the Beaver City area attending Beaver City Schools.

On May 22, 1971, she married Roger Carter, he preceded her in death on Dec. 24, 1981. She obtained her GED in 1985, and later became a Certified Nurses Assistant. She worked for several years at the Methodist Homes in Holdrege.

She was a member of the Prince of Peace Catholic Church in Kearney.

She was preceded in death by her parents; foster parents; husband, Roger Carter; two brothers, an infant and Kenny Wright; and sister, Carolyn Hinze.

Survivors include her four sons, Tom and wife, Karole O'Nele Reiss of Cozad, Tim and wife, Katie Reiss of Lincoln, Terry and wife, Kim Reiss of Branson, Mo., and Todd and wife, Nicole Carter of Kearney; two daughters, Tammy and husband, Andy Sherman of Omaha and Tiffany and husband, Nick Sutton of Grand Island; three sisters, Joan and husband, Lonnie Bienhoff of Bloomington and Barbara and Kathy Kneedler both of Medford, Ore.; three brothers, Jack Kneedler of Medford, Ore., Jim Kneedler of Houston, Texas and Bob Kneedler of Oklahoma City, Okla; and 14 grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at the graveside on Friday, 2 p.m., at the St. John's Catholic Cemetery in Cambridge, with the Rev. Tom Meguire officiating.

Visitation is today until 8 p.m., and Friday 9 a.m. - 1:30 p.m, at Lockenour-Jones Mortuary in Cambridge.

Memorial may be left in her name at the Lockenour-Jones Mortuary in Cambridge.
