NEW ULM, Minn.-- Opal Marie Loshbaugh, 84, of New Ulm, Minn., died Sunday (Dec. 3, 2006) at her home.  

She was born on May 6, 1922, in Lindon, Colo., to Alva William and Levina (Zook) McCracken.  She graduated from the Lindon High School. 

On May 6, 1941, she was united in marriage to Howard Loshbaugh in Brush, Colo.  She was a devoted wife and mother.  She spent many years as a daycare provider.  When her children were older, she worked for McCook City Schools and the Community Hospital in McCook. She enjoyed playing cards, Scrabble, gardening, baking, cooking and being a homemaker. 

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in New Ulm.

She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Lana and Doug Owens of New Ulm, Carol and Kurt Siats of St. Charles, Miss., and Judy and Bart Bieker of Webster City, Iowa; sons and daughters-in-law, Rick and Chris Loshbaugh of Irvine, Calif., and Bob and Renalle Loshbaugh of McCook; a daughter-in-law, Rita Loshbaugh of Hudson, N.H.; eighteen grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; a brother and sister-in-law, Jack and Jo McCracken of Yuma, Colo.; and a sister-in-law, Hazle McCracken of Fort Morgan, Colo. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Howard Loshbaugh; a son, Marvin Loshbaugh; and a brother, Bud McCracken. 

Funeral services will be Thursday, 11 a.m., at First United Methodist Church in New Ulm with Pastor Kevin Dunn officiating.  Burial will be Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at the Memorial Park Cemetery in McCook, with Pastor Clark Bates presiding. 

Visitation will be for one hour prior to the time of service at the church on Thursday. 

Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm, Minn., is in charge of the arrangements.
