Christina and Jeremiah Herron

Christina McMurtrey and Jeremiah Herron, both of Wayne, were united in marriage on June 18, 2005, at the Heritage Senior Center in McCook. President Don Adams, Stake President of the Kearney Nebraska Stake of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, presided and officiated at the ceremony.

Brent and Brenda McMurtrey of McCook are the parents of the bride. The bridegroom's parents are John and Pam Herron, also of McCook.

Honored guests at the ceremony were Karen Brown of Kearney, grandmother of the bride; Geraldine Prather of Kearney, great-grandmother of the bride; Billy and Lillie McMurtrey of Arco, Idaho, grandparents of the bride; and John and Beverly Herron of McCook, grandparents of the bridegroom.

Jessica McMurtrey of McCook served her sister as the maid of honor. The bride also selected Linda Pick of McCook, and Jennifer Herron of McCook, sister of the bridegroom, to be her bridesmaids.

Randy Jordan of Wauneta served as best man. Bridegroomsmen were Shawn McMurtrey of McCook, brother of the bride, and Jason Herron of North Platte, brother of the bridegroom.

The ring bearers were Dallas and Nicholas McMurtrey of McCook, brothers of the bride. The flower girl was Kaitlynne Ellis of Bartley, niece of the bridegroom.

The bride was escorted by her father, and appeared in a sophisticated wedding gown which was styled in fine Italian satin in a slim line which featured a slight flare at the hemline. The gown was strapless and fell in princess line panels which were elegantly decorated with a contemporary look of rich embroidery highlighted with Swarovski stones and various beads. The train was chapel length. The bride also wore a matching head piece and veil.

Christina carried a small white Bible, which had been carried by both her grandmother and her mother in their own weddings, along with a bouquet of pink roses tied with silver ribbons.

The bridegroom wore a black tuxedo with a silver vest. He wore a boutonniere with a pink rose which matched the bride's bouquet.

The bridal attendants wore rose petal pink gowns with spaghetti straps, and each carried a single pink rose.

The bridegroomsmen, ring bearers, and father of the bride wore black tuxedos with pink vests. Each also wore a boutonniere with a pink rose.

Guests were welcomed to the ceremony by President Steve Shaner, Branch President of the McCook Branch of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. President Shaner also offered a prayer to begin the ceremony. The music for the ceremony was provided by organist Susan Shaner of McCook.

A reception and dance followed the ceremony at the McCook Heritage Senior Center.

The bride is a 2002 graduate of McCook Senior High. She is a senior at Wayne State College and will graduate in May with endorsments in both secondary English education, and English as a Second Language. The bridegroom is a 2003 graduate of McCook Senior High. He is a junior at Wayne State studying Industrial Technology education. He is also pursuing a coaching endorsement.

The couple has made their home in Wayne.
