Bortner, Koenig engagement
Jill Rebecca Bortner and Carl Wells Koenig, both of McCook, announce their engagement and upcoming wedding. Parents of the couple are Ben and Ginny Bortner of McCook and Tom and Laura Koenig of Chadron. Grandparents of the couple are Gene and Gernadine Bortner of McCook, Mary Walz of Indianola, Margaret Koenig of Gregory, S.D., and Betty Wells of Sturgis, S.D. Great-grandparents of the couple are Dorothy Bortner and Helen Schlegel, both of McCook, and Laura Grubl of Sturgis. The bride-to-be is a 1995 graduate of Republican Valley High School and attended Mid-Plains Community College in North Platte. She is employed with Mousel and Garner Law Firm of McCook. The prospective bridegroom is a 1997 graduate of Custer High School in Custer, S.D., and a graduate of South Dakota School of Mines and Technology in Rapid City, S.D. He is a civil engineer at the Bureau of Reclamation of McCook. The couple is planning an April 16, 2005, ceremony in Indianola.
