Katie Lynn Vrbas and David Paul Anthony, both of McCook, were united in marriage Nov. 13, 2004, at Memorial United Methodist Church in McCook with the Rev. Dr. Jeff Thurmas officiating.

Parents of the couple are Susan Vrbas of McCook and the late Lawrence Vrbas and Lorin and Geri Anthony of Sidney.

Grandparents of the couple are Charles and Mary Vrbas of Palisade, the late Dr. George and Katherine Hastings, Alex and Dorothy Fritzler of Alliance and the late Paul and Bessie Anthony.

The bride wore a white, satin gown featuring a V-neckline. The front and back bodice was adorned with beaded appliques and had short, demure sleeves. It dropped in a princess-line and was enhanced in the back with a triple row of satin bands and pearled strips. It fell in a curved design from the bodice to the semi-cathedral-length train. The train featured French tulle, heavily splashed with beaded appliques, over satin. She wore a pearl tiara with a detachable train and she carried a cascading bouquet of red roses and carnations. The bridegroom wore a classic black tuxedo with tails, a button tie and a white vest. His boutonniere was a red rose with baby's breath.

Staci Meyers of McCook, sister of the bride, was the matron of honor. The maid of honor was Stacy Dash of McCook. Bridesmaids were Jaclyn Rammage of McCook and Angela Hegert of Kearney, cousin of the bride. They each wore a floor-length, black, strapless A-line gown with black lace jackets. They carried red roses. The bride's personal attendant was Kathy Vrbas of Imperial, aunt of the bride.

The best man was Mike Anthony of Lincoln, brother of the bridegroom. The bridegroomsmen were Ryan Vrbas of McCook, brother of the bride, Terry Roland of McCook and Mike Dean of McCook. The junior bridegroomsman was Alexander Anthony, infant son of the couple. The bridegroomsmen wore tuxedos simular to the bridegroom's attire.

Shayna Vincent of Long Island, Kan., cousin of the bride, was the flower girl. The ring bearer was Logan Vrbas of McCook, son of the bride.

Candlelighters were Tyler Anthony of Lincoln, nephew of the bridegroom, and Allison Vrbas of Imperial, cousin of the bride.

The ushers were Brian Hegert of Kearney, cousin of the bride, and Mitch Thomas of Lincoln, nephew of the bridegroom.

Evie Caldwell of McCook was the organist and Mike Brown of Indianola was the vocalist.

The reception was at the community building in McCook. Host couples were Chris and Mary Hegert of Kearney, cousins of the bride, Dennis and Tina Vrbas of Benkelman, aunt and uncle of the bride, and Dan and Jan Munson of Sidney. The guestbook attendant was Kelsey Vrbas of Hayes Center, cousin of the bride.

The bride is a 1998 graduate of McCook High School and a 2000 graduate of North Platte College with a degree in nursing. She is employed with Hillcrest Nursing Home. The bridegroom is a 1994 graduate of Sidney High School. He is employed by Burlington Northern Railroad as a signalman. The couple lives in McCook.
