HOLDREGE -- Robert E. Harman, 93, died Tuesday (Aug. 17, 2004) at Phelps Memorial Hospital in Holdrege.

He was born Sept. 29, 1910, to John and Florence (Clark) Harman in Edison. He grew up on a farm north of Edison and attended rural Gosper County School District No. 12.

On March 2, 1932, he married Frances G. Waln in Holdrege. The couple resided on a farm north of Edison, where they farmed and raised cattle. In 1946, they moved to Arapahoe while he still farmed north of Edison. His wife preceded him in death Oct. 23, 1970. He entered CA Mues Good Samaritan Center in September of 2003.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Frances; brother, John; four sisters, Alice Ebmeier, Edith Harman, Bessie Manning and Belle Harman; and great-granddaughter, Lindsay Kister.

Survivors include two daughters, Wyoma and husband, Richard Andrews of Omaha and Laree and husband, Gerald Silver of Funk; one sister, Helen Harman of Lincoln; six grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Services are Saturday, 10:30 a.m., at Wenburg Funeral Home of Arapahoe with the Rev. Murray Jones officiating.

Visitation is Thursday, 1-8 p.m., and Friday, 9 a.m.-8 p.m., at Wenburg Funeral Home in Arapahoe. Interment will be in Arapahoe Cemetery in Arapahoe.

Memorials may be given to the Arapahoe Senior Center and the Arapahoe Rescue Squad.
