NORTH PLATTE, Neb. — Senior Charlie Callis scored 18 points to lead four double-figure scores in Maywood-Hayes Center’s 62-45 playoff win over Hitchcock County Tueday evening.

The Wolves (16-8) also featured 15 from Kade Broz, Keenan Richards 13 and Jaxson Anders adding 11 with a team-best 11 rebounds.

Coach Kolby Hamilton’s Wolves will play host North Platte St. Patrick’s for the D1-11 subdistrict title tonight.

The winner moves one win from a D-1 state tournament spot, where May-Hay reached its state championship game just two years ago.

Hitchcock County finished 13-12 overall.

Seniors Trent Kisker scored 21 points and Jayce Hauxwell 17 Tuesday in their high school finales.

Kisker connected on four three-point shots.

Senior Grady Erickson added another seven points.

However, the Falcons could never really overcome a 23-12 first quarter for subdistrict No. 2-seed Maywood-Hayes Center.

The Wolves kept adding on timely points whether it was Callis outside, Richards inside or Broz on several nifty drives to those hoops.

Anders sparked the fast start. Sawyer Dibbern also added five points and eight boards.
