However, they reached 20 points by halftime then unleashed another 40 following that midway break.

Fantastic balance featured four double-figure scorers in senior Clara Spargo with 14 points, Escobar 12, junior Emily Schack 12 and sophomore Abi Spargo 11.

Escobar’s 12 points all arrived on four triples.

Sophomore Ava Lutz added five points, Maelee Forch four and two for Char Lutz.

Junior Brooklyn Holtze’s 10 points were the Cambridge highlight, though those Trojans could still be among 16 D-2 district finalists.

Meanwhile, Maywood-Hayes Center (22-3) secured their D1-11 title with a 53-42 victory over No. 3 Southwest at Maywood Thursday.

The Wolves also delivered a strong second quarter, outscoring SW 20-10 to build a 33-20 halftime advantage.

No individual stats were obtained from this contest as the Wolves await a district finals opponent next week.

At 12-11, the Roughriders may be a longshot despite knocking off D1-11 No. 2 Arapahoe on Tuesday when sophomore Aspen Billeter scored 34.
