Younger Bison go 3-3 on recent road trips

McCOOK, Neb. — McCook’s seventh-grade boys won two of three in Holdrege then played three more tough basketball contests at Lexington recently.

Coach Tom Lentz provides more details:

“On Monday, the seventh-graders traveled to Lexington. Illness cost us three players, but the rest stepped up and did their best.

The ‘A’ team led most of the game until a slow offensive fourth quarter cost us in a 27-24 loss.”

Scoring summary: Colton Foster 7 points, Case Deveny 6, Landon Curl 4, Jaxton Beasley 3, Jordan Jenkins 3.

B game: Lexington 20, McCook 16

Bison scoring: Alex Rhine 11 points, Ethan Randolph 3, Britton Blomstedt 2.

C game: McCook 10, Lexington 2

Bison scoring: Cole Pilgrim 5 points, Ethan Randolph 3, Abel Dorothy 2.

“On Thursday, Jan. 29, the Bison traveled to Holdrege for three games.

In the ‘A’ game, Holdrege defeated the Bison 25-19.

McCook controlled the first half, but the Dusters got hot from three-point range and outscored the Bison 12-8 to take the game.”

B game: McCook 18, Holdrege 3
