Corvin Stark

Corvin Dean Stark, age 88, of Holbrook, Nebraska passed away on Saturday, January 17, 2026 at this home. He was born at Cambridge, Nebraska August 23, 1937, to Henry G. and Hilda (Harm) Stark.
He was baptized and confirmed at the Salem Lutheran Church, at Elwood, Nebraska. He grew up on the farm north of Holbrook.
Corvin went to the University School of Agriculture at Curtis, Nebraska and graduated with the class of 1954. He joined the US Navy in September 1955 and served until 1959. Corvin served on 5 different air craft carriers overseas with the Admirals, Commander, of the 7th fleet. Corvin was later transferred to Kodiak, Alaska for the last year and a half of his enlistment.
Corvin then married Bonnie Bridgford on October 27, 1957, and to this union one son was born, Corvin Dean Stark Jr. in July of 1959.
While at Kodiak, he coached little league baseball and got to take the team to state play offs in Anchorage, Alaska. The winner got to go to the World Series.
After Corvin discharged from the Navy, he farmed for 3 years and then went to work in the oil fields for 5 years. Then on to work in McCook at Stickney’s for 6 years as the manager. In 1970, he went to work as the manager of Holbrook Non-Stock Coop, until he retired in 2004.
Corvin enjoyed all sports, he coached little-league baseball for many years, also football announcer and time keeper for basketball. He was also a member of Holbrook Lions Club, and helped with the Lions Club sale for many years. Also was a member of the Lions Club of Mercedes, Texas.
After retirement, Corvin & Bonnie spent their winters in Weslaco, Texas and served with their local Lion’s Club and helped deliver quilts that were made for schools in that area. He also helped with Bingo for a few years.
He is survived by his wife Bonnie Stark, son Corvin Stark Jr., grandchildren Cory Stark, Lindsi (John) Harris and 2 great-grandchildren Lauren and Alexander.
He was preceded in death by his sister and two brothers, Marlin and Donald Stark, and Henry and Hilda Stark and father and mother in-law Troy & Edith Bridgford.
Viewing and visitation will be Wednesday, January 21, 2026 from 4 PM until 6 PM at Garey Funeral Chapel, 652 Main St., Arapahoe, Nebraska. Funeral services will be Thursday, January 22, 2026 at 10:30 AM at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Cambridge, Nebraska with Rev. Dan Wiese, officiating. Interment will be at Fairview Cemetery, Cambridge, Nebraska. Garey Funeral Home of Arapahoe, Nebraska is in charge of the arrangements.
