M.V. Raiders top a four-win Tuesday for area girls teams

CURTIS, Neb. — An 18-9 fourth quarter finished the Medicine Valley girls’ strong 47-35 victory over Wallace Tuesday evening.

Senior Kamree Elsten led the Raiders to 1-0 in 2026 (2-7 overall) though sophomore Oakley Stout was doubly tough with 12 points and 16 game-high rebounds.

Stout nearly reached a “triple double” because she swiped nine steals from the Wildcats.

Senior Kaedence Phelps added six clutch points, but how about junior Brookelyn Kotschwar stepping up to score another five?

Don’t forget senior Jordiya Phillips, who joined Stout to become a double force on the glass. Phillips cleared 10 rebounds to go with those 16 from Stout.

Junior Delaney Evans delivered four points, four more rebounds and three steals.

Other Raiders hitting shots were junior TeeJay Hildebrandt’s three points, Phillips two and freshman Gracie Johns with two.

Phillips mixed in five more steals.

The Raiders took a 12-10 lead through one quarter which grew to 21-18 by halftime.

Wallace was still within 29-26 until that clinching Raider fourth period.

Southwest 56,

Hitchcock 46

BARTLEY, Neb. — Sophomore Aspen Billeter’s 22 points matched another 22 from seniors Annikka Nelms (12) and Kyra Nelms (10) in the Southwest win on Tuesday.

Billeter added eight rebounds for team-high honors, but both Nelms twins also delivered five assists.

Senior Caitlyn Adams contributed seven points and three steals to the Roughriders.

Junior Kassidy Vaughan made her only shot for three points.

Sophomore Teagan Stritt tossed in two points as the Roughriders turned this contest during a 20-6 second quarter.

The Falcons (4-6) led 16-13 through eight minutes. Southwest made it a 33-22 advantage entering halftime and 46-31 after three quarters.’

Both Nelms also blocked two Falcon shots. No indvidual details were obtained about the Hitchcock girls.

Arapahoe 71,

Maxwell 32

ARAPAHOE, Neb. — Senior Chloe Gooden scored her Warrior-best 19 points and classmate Emma Strand netted 18 for the 8-2 Arapahoe girls Tuesday evening.

Strand was a fantastic four for five from beyond the three-point arc (80 percent). Gooden buried another five long-distance triples.

Sophomore Suttyn Shafer added 10 points as the Warriors took a 22-9 lead after one quarter and never lost charge. They added a 22-7 third quarter.

Junior Clara Hilker’s eight points featured 67 percent shooting at four for six. Senior Ryleigh Tidyman put in six points and soph Suttyn Shafer three.

Gooden delivered five assists when she wasn’t swiping four steals.

Hi-Line 14

EUSTIS, Neb. — The Maywood-Hayes Center girls are now 11-1 following a Tuesday game where they led 55-12 entering halftime.

Coach Kim Stengel’s girls did not let up and finished with a 19-2 fourth period. Individual stats were not obtained.
