McCook girls fall short to Eagles, 46-41, play for third

MALCOLM, Neb. — McCook High's girls could not overcome a cold 10-point first half and fell short 46-41 against Arlington in today's Malcolm Holiday Tournament third-place game.
Junior Cali Crawford scored 22 points with senior Jaylea Walgren adding most of her 11 during the second-half comeback attempts.
McCook's other players only added eight points with senior Brecken Gale hitting a three, freshman Carli Rupp and sophomore Hailey Smalley two points each besides one Christal Barber free throw.
McCook (3-5 record) will play for Northwest from Grand Island to decide third place. It's an early tip time of 10 a.m. on Wednesday at Malcolm High School.
