Roughrider golfer finishing at Class C state tourney

NORTH PLATTE, Neb. — Southwest senior Madelyn Tryon shot 108 on Monday and was tied for 83rd place at the Class C state golf tournament.

Tryon hit par on holes No. 6 and 12 at Lake Maloney Golf Course but bogeyed or higher on the other holes.

The tournament concludes today.

Southwest finished a narrow fourth to just miss sending the entire team into state.

The Southwest Conference Minden Whippets were running away with team honors as their 328 led Class C by 34 strokes over nearest challenger Scotus Central. Whippets KayLynn Jorgensen and Macy Jorgensen were 1-2.
