MNB and other volunteers prepare for Wednesday’s McCook Cares Community Bread Giveaway, and participants join in prayer for the pair of missing moms in Kansas, for Thatcher Skolout’s recovery from injuries sustained in an explosion, and other community concerns. Outdated but still healthy bread products used to be sold from a local outlet store, but when that closed, it would simply have to be discarded. Organizer Rose Weskamp first got permission to distribute the products at the Congregational Church, but then moved the weekly event to the Cornerstone Fellowship, 402 W.. Fifth, 10 a.m. each Wednesday.
