OGALLALA, Neb. — Chase County’s boys have earned a shot at No. 1-seed Ogallala with their 58-32 blasting of Broken Bow in C-1 subdistrict play Monday.

The Longhorns (15-9 record) stretched their win streak to six entering tonight’s semifinal game against those 20-3 Ogallala Indians at Prairie View School.

More subdistrict matchups this week can be seen today on Page 9.

Junior Camron Lempke’s 17 points topped the Longhorns on Monday, though senior Jensen Olsen hit six of his nine shots to mix in 14 points.

Senior Easton Fries added 10 points to complete a leading Chase trio that shot 17 for 30 overall for nearly 60 percent on their field goals.

Junior Taylor Jablonski added seven points while junior Kole Clevenge and sophomore Noah Rau each netted five. Jablonski also dished out a team-best six assists.

Clevenger’s nine rebounds and four steals from Lempke were other Longhorn bests.

Broken Bow finished its season at 3-16 overall.

The Longhorns continue on in a “who’s who” of Southwest Conference basketball.

Besides facing six-time SWC reigning champ Ogallala, Chase would meet the winner between 20-4 Cozad and 16-6 Gothenburg for that subdistrict title Thursday.

Arapahoe 43

LOOMIS, Neb. — A big Friday win over Alma didn’t quite carry enough momentum for Arapahoe’s boys Monday evening.

Junior William Cacy scored 17 points including eight during the second quarter.

Junior Trenton Roskop delivered seven of his nine points after halftime but Bertrand still prevailed 45-43.

Arapahoe finishes its basketball season at 12-13 overall.

Sophomore Kade Fisher contributed six points while Chris Hermes hit two triples to score another six.

Eli Shafer added four points and Carl Nordine two. Bertrand won despite no Viking netting more than nine points.
