TRENTON, Neb. — Maywood-Hayes Center overcame a 14-5 first quarter to beat Dundy County-Stratton, 49-39, in Friday night’s RPAC boys semifinal.
The Wolves avenged one of their only two defeats as seniors Gage Gerlach, Haydn Farr and Jeremiah Ingison tallied 12 points apiece.
“We overcame a first quarter where we hit no shots, just five free throws,” coach Kolby Hamilton observed.
Senior Jackson Kerchal’s 13 points and 11 from sophomore Lane Bybee led DC-S (14-4).
East semifinal
ARAPAHOE, Neb. — Zavier Mitchell’s 16 points led East No. 1 Alma to a 40-36 win over Cambridge Friday night.
The Trojans got 10 points from Brohdey Wood. Ben Hoberty netted nine points and Carson Trompke eight.
