BROKEN BOW, Neb. — The McCook Bison are 7-3 following their 54-30 victory over Broken Bow Tuesday evening to tip off 2024 basketball action.

Coach Joe Imus' team heated up after a slow 8-4 first quarter, outscoring the Indians 21-10 to take their 29-14 advantage into halftime.

They delivered another strong 17-8 third quarter and cruised into a big week featuring ames at Gothenburg Friday followed by home vs. powerhouse Sidney Saturday.

All the McCook Bison leaders from this win and Friday's Nebraska City title victory over Ralston:

McCook 54, Broken Bow 30

BISON (7-3) — Miles Pollmann 12 points, Gabe Gans 11, Josiah Wilkinson 9, Tripp Raile 7, Mitchel Cole 6, Jonathan Patel 6, Brody Graham 2, Kaiden Porter 1. Three-pointers: Gans, Raile.

Two-point shooting: 53.7%. Three-point shooting: 12.5%. Free throws: 80%.

Overall field-goal shooting: 42.1%.
